Defeating the Giants in your Path

For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
Isaiah 41:3

All of us at one time or another have been through a struggle, a hardship or trial. But it’s the “giants” that stand in our path that can be the most damaging.  They can come in any form such as people, situations, habits and even physical items.  These “giants” can tear us down, destroy our confidence and completely convince us we are nothing. If we let them they can control us to the point of total defeat. But as a Child of God we can not let this happen and God himself tells us many times he has already given us Victory.

Deuteronomy 20:4 – For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

John 16:33 – These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world

1 Corinthians 15:57 – But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Exodus 23:20 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared

Deuteronomy 31:8 The LORD is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.

We just have to accept Victory and use it. We have all the tools needed to defeats those “giants” just as David did.  Who would ever know that a boy could take down such a adversary with just a few rocks and a sling. God knew!  It was part of his plan the whole time this illustrates to us that nothing is too big or too scary to have Victory over. If a small boy can kill a giant with one shot we can tell the giant to move and it will be moved.

God allows giants to cross your path so that the David in you will rise up!

It all boils down to Faith it doesn’t have to be a large amount of Faith,  it isn’t a contest, you can have the smallest amount of Faith even as small as mustard seed and you can tell a Mountain to move and it will.

Matthew 17:20 – And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

God gives us the ultimate weapon His Word the very thing that spoke existence into place, The Word of God. More powerful than any two edge sword, so powerful in the last days Mountains will crumble at the sound of it.  Our other weapon is Prayer

Philippians 4:6 – Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

John 15:7 – If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 – Pray without ceasing

Rage I will on the battlefield, streaming fire across the fields. I am a Celtic Warrior Princess I pick up my sword and hold it high.

Really the only thing that keeps these “giants” in our path is us, we fail to recognize that we already have Victory in everything we do.  It is easier for us to accept defeat then to fight and this makes us weak and lazy. But God uses these trials and storms to build us to make us stronger and for us to share our testimony with others and if we don’t fight we have no testimony.  Then the Devil wins and we go through these trials for no reason but defeat.

Lord Heavenly Father, I come to you Today Lord to ask that the person reading this who is struggling with Giants in her path Lord that she learns to lean on you Lord, to come to you and pray for Faith and Strength that only you can provide. Lord I pray she sees the David inside of her and finds that voice that tells that mountain to crumble and becomes stronger for your Glory in the Mighty Name of Jesus Amen

Easter, it’s Pagan roots and what it means to the Believer.

And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.
Acts 12:4

Easter for millions across the World is time to celebrate the Crucifixion and Resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. But over several centuries other traditions have found their way in, such as Easter Baskets full of Candy, pictures taken with the Easter Bunny, Dinner with the Family, coloring Eggs then hunting for them and Yes, Cadbury eggs. But sadly all of the traditions we celebrate have pagan roots and many believers aren’t even aware of it. I ultimately believe that we take power away from these pagan rituals when we put Christ first and recognize Easter isn’t about Easter eggs and bunnies but about Jesus and his sacrifice for us.

Is Easter ever mentioned in the Bible?

Yes and No, Some point to Acts 12:4 as the reference verse in the Bible as to where Easter originated from. And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. The King James translators substituted the Word Easter for the Greek Word Pascha which means Passover. The word Easter does not properly occur in Scripture. The vast majority of scholars recognize this and have documented this “error” many times. As a matter of fact, the word Easter only appears in the King James Version of English bible translations. It does not exist in any other English bible translation. Even the King James Version was forced to remove it from its revised version, known as the New King James Version. The truth is there is no evidence in the New Testament as Easter being recognized as a Jewish Holiday or way to commemorate Jesus’s death and resurrection.

What is Passover?

The Jewish people celebrate Passover or Pascha as a commemoration of their liberation by God from slavery in Egypt and their freedom as a nation under the leadership of Moses. It commemorates the story of the Exodus as described in the Hebrew Bible especially in the Book of Exodus, in which the Israelites were freed from slavery in Egypt

The Passover ritual, prior to Deuteronomy, is widely thought to have its origins in an apotropaic rite, unrelated to the Exodus, to ensure the protection of a family home, a rite conducted wholly within a clan. Hyssop was employed to daub the blood of a slaughtered sheep on the lintels and door posts to ensure that demonic forces could not enter the home.

In Deuteronomy, Passover is a spring festival which during the existence of the Jerusalem Temple was connected to the offering of the “first-fruits of the barley”, barley being the first grain to ripen and to be harvested in the Land of Israel.

 In Israel present day, Passover is the seven-day holiday of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, with the first and last days observed as legal holidays and as holy days involving holiday meals, special prayer services, and abstention from work;

If Easter isn’t found in the Bible where does it come from and what does it actually mean?

To understand where Easter came from we must understand the time period in which many of it’s traditions came from. In Ancient times people were far more connected with the land and the cycles of the nature than we are today. Spring, when fertility returned after a long winter was a welcomed time of the year. Many celebrated this time of the year by worshiping their gods and goddesses with feast and rituals. Among such deities were Baal and Astarte of Ashtoreth which were condemned frequently in the Bible due to sex being typically used during rituals to promote fertility. Sadly this is where many of our traditions have originated from with pagan roots such as Spring fertility rights that uses symbols such as eggs and rabbit which represent rapid reproduction. Because of their nature in reproduction, rabbits were associated with Ishtar, the goddess of fertility. This is where Christians borrowed the tradition of the Easter bunny. Ancient Babylonians believed an egg fell into the Euphrates River from the moon. Queen Ishtar was apparently “hatched” from this egg. This moon egg was called Ishtar’s egg; which became known as the Easter egg.

Most Christians are unaware that Easter is a pagan festival merged with Christianity. Noah’s son, Ham, married a woman called Ashtoreth. In some cultures, Ashtoreth is called Ishtar, which is transliterated in English as Easter. Ashtoreth made herself “the Queen of Heaven;” the goddess of fertility and became an object of worship. This idol worship of Ashtoreth, later merged with Christianity as Easter, is specifically forbidden in the scriptures.Image result for ashtoreth queen of heaven

Jeremiah 7:18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.

Judges 2:13-14 And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.

14 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies.

Accordingly, Samuel counselled Israel to forsake Ashtoreth (Ishtar) worship: “Then Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, ‘If you return to the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths from among you, and prepare your hearts for the LORD, and serve him only; and he will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines.” 1 Samuel 7:3

Sun Worship has also intermingled itself in Easter Celebrations. Many Christians and Churches hold Sun rise services on Easter morning. The word Easter also means movement towards the rising Sun, people would hold rituals and worship this event.

Biblical evidence is found in the Story of Ham and Ashtoreth who had a Son named Nimord and after Ham ‘s death Nimrod married his own mother Ashtoreth and became a powerful king in Babylon. When Nimrod was killed Ashtoreth deitified him as Sun god or Life giver.

Ezekiel 8:16-17 And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD’S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east. Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.

After the death of Nimrod, Ashtoreth gave birth to Tammuz, a son she claimed was Nimrod reborn. When Tammuz was killed by a wild boar, Ashtoreth started a ritual of 40 days of mourning for Baal worshippers, when no meat was allowed to be eaten. This pagan tradition of “weeping for Tammuz” is specifically proscribed in the scriptures.

God said to Ezekiel: Ezekiel 8:13-14 “Turn again, and you will see greater abominations that they are doing.” So he brought me to the door of the north gate of the LORD’S house; and to my dismay, women were sitting there weeping for Tammuz.”

Nevertheless, weeping for Tammuz has been absorbed into Christianity by the institution of Lent; a 40-day period of fasting and prayer observed in some Christian denominations as a prelude to Easter. Just like Easter, Lent is not scriptural. Neither the word nor the custom exist in the bible. Lent begins, according to Christian tradition, on Ash Wednesday; which is also pagan. The ashes were said to be the seed of the Indian fire god, Agni, deemed to have the power to forgive sins.

Why is Easter always held a different times year after year?

The date for Easter changes from year to year. Sometimes it is in March and sometimes in April. Easter moves from year to year because the date has nothing to do with the death and resurrection of Jesus but with the changing cycles of the moon. Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday after the first Vernal Equinox full moon; which is consecrated by pagans as Ishtar’s Sunday. This signifies the astronomical arrival of spring. The pagan belief is that the sun dies at winter Christmas and is reborn at spring Easter.

Jewish Passover also has a moving calender, To ensure that Passover did not start before spring, the tradition in ancient Israel held that the first day of Nisan would not start until the barley was ripe, being the test for the onset of spring. If the barley was not ripe, or various other phenomena  indicated that spring was not yet imminent, a month would be added. However, since at least the 4th century, the date has been fixed mathematically.

So what does Easter mean to the Believer?

Easter is when we celebrate the most important event in history, the Crucifixion and Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our whole foundation of our Biblical belief is based on his sacrifice and the meaning behind it. God knew men were influenced by Flesh and needed to see things in order to believe. So he manifested himself into flesh and came here as his son Jesus Christ born of a Virgin mother. He came here to show us his power by performing miracles and rebuking demons that had run rampant so we could “see” for our selves. He came here to show us how to Love our fellow man no matter their social status or health. By doing this he healed the lame and sick and he didn’t do this with the Pharisees but with liers, cheaters and murders who later became his disciples and were responsible for spreading the Gospel.

Most importantly Jesus’s sole purpose of coming here was to display the greatest offering of Love, himself. He suffered days of physical abuse that involved beatings, whipping and taunting far worse than any of us could imagine. Think about how great this abuse was because it was meant to take on every sin of every person born in the past, present and future, how great this suffering must have been. It brings me to tears to know what pain his physical body endured for all of us and it greatly makes my soul hurt and sob knowing that people aren’t even grateful for it or even appreciate it. They go about daily lives not even thinking of him or acknowledging his presence around them.

Jesus allowed himself to go through these beatings but nothing compared to the ultimate sacrifice that relived us from Law and gave us Grace. He was given a crown of thorns and made to carry his cross for miles after these beatings, he was paraded around to be spit on, to be kicked and things thrown at him. What great humility he suffered the most powerful being in creation allowing himself to be spit on and all of this for you. He then was nailed to this cross and hung for all of man kind to see then and now.

Resurrection of Jesus Christ by myjavier007

But the story doesn’t end their My God, the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, the Alpha and Omega rose three days later. To show his power one more time, to show the World how great he is and that he is the only living God and creator of all. He did this for you and if you don’t know him as your personal savior or do and have forgotten how great this display of Love is, I beg and plead for you to get on your face as I did and tell him how great he is and how you are Thankful for his Love. Tell him you are sorry for not putting him first and sorry for those who don’t accept him in their lives.

If you are not saved here is some Scripture for you to read then pray the simple prayer I am also giving you

1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one

Romans 3:23 For all have fallen short of the Glory of God

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Now pray this Prayer Verbally as Romans 10:9 states, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today as a sinner and broken I acknowledge this, I also come to you believing that you died for me to take my sins and forgive them Lord, I am grateful for you and this display of love and ask today Lord for you to forgive me and save me from myself and sins. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ Amen

LET IT GO

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.  Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:18-19

The hardest thing in life is to let things go.  We all have something in our lives that has haunted us or even destroyed us at times. Why is it so hard for humans to just put things behind us?  We struggle from loss of life, finances, love and loss of possessions.  Now some things are harder than others to let go such as death, abuse and the loss of love. But at some point it needs to put aside  in order to function in life. We can’t let things eat at us to the point of shutting others out or letting it make us prisoners of our own sorrow.  Some people let the hard aches of life get them to the point of no return and they simply give up on everything around them. They turn to self destructive behavior such as drugs, alcohol and even quit taking care of themselves, homes and others that depend on them.

I myself am struggling with letting it go. I have been in a relationship for 13 years that was never founded on God and at one point it had the illusion of a Godly thing but denied the power of.  We both knew it was time to move on but didn’t out of obligation to the kids and habit. Sure we loved each other but as we grew in the Word we took hold of different beliefs and how to serve God. We became two different people. I prayed for a year that my other half  would see in me what God did and I prayed that it was his will to keep us together and that we could get married and be one. I couldn’t grasp why God wanted to tear my family apart.  Now that we have separated and I have clearly seen his provisions and blessings once in his will and know I truly am to relay on him and him only. It was never his will to even be in that relationship. But because of the history together, struggles, victory and growing up with each other it is hard to let go.  We both knew it was time to go our separate ways, he didn’t love me as God says too and treated me horribly. I became disobedient to him, bitter and distant.  When we first split  I was so excited, super determined and knew God will send me the one he has prepared for me.  The kids Dad has already found someone he calls my replacement, now I find my self being compared to her and am constantly updated on their status as to rub it in.  This is when it became difficult for me to see the sunshine past the clouds and it is starting to eat at me.

I need to remember that I am a Daughter of the One True King, The Lord of Lords, King of Kings, The Alpha, The Omega, The Beginning and The End. I need to remember that I am promised Victory and a hedge of Protection has always been around me. I need to remember that not one is greater, not one( Romans 3:10), that greater that is in me than in this World(1 John 4:4) , that I can accomplish all things through Christ (Philippians 4:13) and all good things come to those who serve him(Romans 8:28).

All of this is easier said than done when you feel as if your world has been turned upside down and you are loosing grasp of reality. It sounds good and is supposed to be uplifting but again we are carnal and live in the flesh. It’s not easy. I have no magic wand to wave or profound way of getting over it. It’s a called a struggle for a reason. God does not promise Rainbows and Balloons all the days of your life. He does promise however to always be with you, to talk with you and hold you up in order to fight the Storm. He does promise what doesn’t kill you will make you stronger and you will be better coming out of the storm than going in.  All I can offer for advice and my way of getting over it his is Word. For God is the Word and the Word was the Beginning and life was created with the Word and will be taken away with it when he returns. So if it holds the power of life and death it surely can hold the power to help all of us get over our demons in one way or another.

Philippians 3:12-14  Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but [this] one thing [I do], forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Isaiah 43:18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

Psalms 32:8  I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Isaiah 43:18-19  Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new

Proverbs 4:25  Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee

Jeremiah 29:11  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

1 Peter 5:7  Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Ecclesiastes 3:6  A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

I guess this is my way of letting it go. Putting it out there and sharing my struggle, hopefully it helps someone else understand they are not alone. Not only do other’s go through the ups and downs but God promises to be there for us, we just need to let him and remember his comfort.

I Pray in the name of Jesus that I learn to move forward today, that I along with others learn to not let people steal our sunshine. I pray that if there is someone who has lost a loved one that they are able to find solace knowing they are at home with God.  I pray that what ever demon is being faced today we find the Strength to tell it to move and we are able to carry on. I pray for strength, courage and confidence that we all know we are not alone and are always being care for by our Father.

WARS AND RUMORS OF WARS

And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet

Matthew 24:6

Ecclesiastes 3:8 – A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

In light of recent events World wide,  I felt compelled to bring some attention to the season we are in. Terrorist attacks and shootings are a daily occurrence and crime has risen in many cities here and across the World. We are witnessing some of the most Perilous times Society has ever known.

2 Timothy 3:1-7  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of  their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Unfortunately, we are experiencing a season of Wars and Rumor of Wars, The entire World is on stand by, and many nations have aimed nuclear capable missiles at each other. We are closer to a World War than we have been in decades.  I often hear people mocking End Time signs, the Bible says this will happen in Jude 1:18 That there shall be mockers in the last days. The most common remark I hear in regards to the signs of Wars, is that we have always been at War or in a threat of one. While this is true they also fail to remember that this is the first time in human civilization that ALL the signs are being fulfilled at once. Many fail to understand that it wasn’t even possible until 1948 when Israel became a nation. Now that this has happened ALL the signs are starting to increase just as a women in labor does increasing in strength and frequency.(1 Thessalonians 5:3)

Israel has always been and will always be a contributing factor to End Times Scenarios. The Bible tells us this several times, We are told that once Israel becomes a Nation that other nations will come against her and split the country and that the end will not be until then.

Joel 3:2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.”

Jeremiah 30:3 For, lo, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the Lord: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.

Amos 9:14-15 And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the Lord thy God.

Zechariah 12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

Zechariah 14:1-2  Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.  For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

Luke 21:20  And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

Luke 21:32 – Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled

We are in the End Times and the signs are increasing as a women in labor. We have entered The Beginning of Sorrows which is a time on Earth when pestilence, fearful sights and famine will increase. To learn more about The Beginning of Sorrows please follow this link to read my article on  WHAT IS THE BEGINNING OF SORROWS?

Mark 13:7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.

Luke 21:9-10 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

We have always been a society of violence and our past is full of death and destruction brought on by fighting, but never has it been as severe as today. But Jesus tells us not to be alarmed for these things must pass in order for his return (Luke 21:9) This statement from Jesus doesn’t make it any easier though because all you have to do is turn on the news and see for yourself the World is heading for a great battle as never seen before. Russia, Iran, Turkey, China, Syria, North Korea, Israel, Iraq and the US all hold major roles in this battle that is yet to come. Alliances are being made, Refugees have completely deserted a country and Nuclear War is increasingly becoming a World concern.

Ezekiel 38:22 And I will bring him to judgment with pestilence and bloodshed; I will rain down on him, on his troops, and on the many peoples who are with him, flooding rain, great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.

Ezekiel 38:4  “And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:”

But many who are in the Body of Christ, have fallen asleep and have only focused on God’s love, hope and mercy, holding unto the the feel good doctrine completely ignoring the promise of his return both good and bad. Leaving those who are asleep or those who refuse to wake up, blinded to what all these events truly represent.  I feel a part of the Body of Christ has been deceived by false doctrine and the World, viewing the End Times as a joke and mock the signs.  Men of today are so blinded by the False Doctrine of World that they will continue to deny the obvious signs and invent excuses to explain what is happening around them. The Bible tells us that mens heart will fail from fear (Luke 21:26) and I am afraid this will includes a portion of the Body of Christ because they have failed to learn of the End Times and what to expect. Many believe it will not happen in their lifetime but ignore the fact that we are watching it unfold in front of them.

Luke 21:25-26 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Colossians 2:8 – Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ

2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Revelation 9:20-21  And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

Keeping up with the news can often be depressing and frustrating . As Christians, we are to know the World will pass away (1 John 2:17) and will one day will be destroyed(2 Peter 3:10), yet we are not to be afraid for our home is in heaven. (Philippians 3:20). At the same time we need to be aware because current events can provide examples of God’s word that we can use to help awaken others. The Bible tells us that some are saved with fear, pulling them out of the fire(Jude 1:23)and some are saved by Love. But ultimately, we all need to be prepared for what we are going to face – opposition, persecution, and standing before others to defend the teaching of Jesus. The idea of preparedness is seen throughout the Bible. Jesus used it to emphasize the point about being prepared for His coming: “But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into” Matthew 24:43. If we pay attention to our surroundings and what may be coming, we can be prepared. Keeping up with current events helps us do this. In other words, the closer we draw to the second coming of Christ, the more urgent it is that we are awakened out of our spiritual sleep.

That is why the Bible tells us

Ezekiel 38:7 Prepare yourself and be ready, you and all your companies that are gathered about you; and be a guard for them

Matthew 24:44  Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh

Romans 13:11-14  And that, knowing the time, that now [it is] high time to awake out of sleep: for now [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed.

Matthew 24:42  Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come

Matthew 25:1-11 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.  And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh

But as the Body of Christ grows in God’s Word we learn to Love one another, Spread the Gospel and the importance of being prepared for his return. In times of trouble and insecurity we are reminded not to have a Spirit of Fear but given comfort knowing God has promised to protect us. That God will never leave you or forsake you (Duet 38:1) that he always prepares a path ahead of you(John 14:3) and that we are to be of good cheer and not be upset about the tribulation around us for God has over come the World (John 16:33).

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea.

Proverbs 29:25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe

Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God [is] with thee whithersoever thou goest

Matthew 28:20 – Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, [even] unto the end of the world.

We are to continue to spread the Gospel of Jesus and how he came here to save us from our sins. At the same time we need to Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour 1 Peter 5:8   If ever there was a time to pay attention and get prepared, it is now!

Give it all to Jesus

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Matthew 11:30

Yoke means something that binds or that becomes to heavy to carry

In Biblical times all who is weary come to me and rest referred to the people who were overwhelmed with all the laws that the Pharisees were imposing. For today those who are legalistic driven this is a reminder to give it all Jesus and legalism can become burdensome. Romans 3:20 states that no one can be declared righteous in his sight by observing law. The Good news is Jesus promises to all those who come to him that only he can offer rest. Those who are heavy laden are to take his yoke upon them in doing so you will find peace in your life and soul. The Yoke Jesus of Jesus is light and easy to carry because of repentance and faith.

1 John 5:3 states For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Jesus carries our burdens through his perfect obedience to God and his sacrifice for our sins were exchanged and wiped clean.  Rm12:1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God. We are dealt with by the Holy Ghost who works in all our lives to mold us in the image of Christ. Therefore giving our burdens for him to carry in doing so this gives us peace. Through our obedience we are able to give God the Glory and in return showing him we accept his sacrifice and will live our lives for him.

To take the Yoke of Christ is to accept his will and his Yoke is easy because of his Love and he will never expect anything from us, it is always there for us we just need to reach out for it. It doesn’t matter what your situation is or what you have done. It is time to let it go and give it all to Jesus, he took the ultimate sacrifice to show us how great his love is, he did so in order to show us that we are to count on him and to lean on him. He doesn’t want us to carry worry, fear or doubt he expects us to hand over all our problems to him so he can handle them,  we are only to trust in him and find comfort knowing our savior lives and cares for us.
