FINDING PEACE

John 14:27 – Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid

Peace pēs/ noun noun: peace; noun: the peace.

  1.  freedom from disturbance; quiet and tranquility.

Peace as defined by man is the ability to find freedom from chaos or finding quiet and tranquility. The Bible uses the word peace in many different ways. Peace sometimes refers to the relationship between God and man. This peace between God and  mankind has been created by Christ’s ultimate sacrifice, “having made peace through the blood of his cross”  (Colossians 1:20).  This relationship with God is a prerequisite for the second kind of peace, that which sometimes refers to a tranquil mind. It is only when “we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1) that we can experience the true peace of mind that is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. (Galatians 5:22).

Peace is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. When a believer comes to know the God of all Peace and brings him into their hearts (1 Corinthians 6:19), He begins to produce His own characteristics in their  life. Inner peace comes from knowing that situations are only temporary and that God is in control over all (Isaiah 46:9–11). Peace comes from having faith in an all powerful God and His Word. We can have peace in the face of challenges when we remember that “all things work together for the good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28). We can choose peace rather than give way to fear and worry. Inner peace resulting from a relationship with God allows us to keep things in proper perspective. We soon learn we can accept difficult situations we go through on Earth  by remembering that our true home is in heaven (Philippians 3:20).

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:6-9

Peace is knowing that our Lord Jesus Christ will always be there. Peace comes from knowing He will always provide. Peace is knowing that God is in control and we are to completely surrender unto him. Life isn’t about who has the better car, shoes and clothes. It isn’t meant to be worried about how to pay bills and how to feed the kids. Peace comes to those who serve him correctly, by having obedience and obtaining true faith.  He tells us do not worry, do not care about things of this World but have faith and know he will always provide, protect and bring peace to you…..as long as you serve him and him only.

 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.  Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?  So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:26-34

Peace of mind and the tranquility of spirit are only available when we have true peace with God through the sacrifice of Christ on the cross in payment of our sins. Those who attempt to find peace in worldly pursuits will find themselves sadly deceived. For Christians, however, peace of mind is available through the intimate knowledge of, and complete trust in, the God who meets “all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19)

 

 

 

 

 

ISAIAH 43:18-19

Remember not the former things, Behold I will do a new thing

God is always trying to remind us to look towards our future and not the past. We can’t control the past, but we can focus on the miracles around us today. People hold so tightly to the past that they missed the new things God wants to show them. What controlled us in the past doesn’t have to control us in the future.

It doesn’t matter if our past is full of regret from our own decisions or from being involved in a negative situation. We are to realize can’t go back to make changes and we can’t control negative people, but we can choose joy for ourselves. We can’t in hear the words that once shaped our hearts, but we can replace them with truth from Scripture.

God wants to give us hope  and remind us that tomorrow doesn’t have to be like yesterday. Yesterday we might have been burdened by others’ expectations or by our own choices, but today we can walk in the freedom of a new life in Jesus.

Defeating the Giants in your Path

For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
Isaiah 41:3

All of us at one time or another have been through a struggle, a hardship or trial. But it’s the “giants” that stand in our path that can be the most damaging.  They can come in any form such as people, situations, habits and even physical items.  These “giants” can tear us down, destroy our confidence and completely convince us we are nothing. If we let them they can control us to the point of total defeat. But as a Child of God we can not let this happen and God himself tells us many times he has already given us Victory.

Deuteronomy 20:4 – For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

John 16:33 – These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world

1 Corinthians 15:57 – But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Exodus 23:20 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared

Deuteronomy 31:8 The LORD is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.

We just have to accept Victory and use it. We have all the tools needed to defeats those “giants” just as David did.  Who would ever know that a boy could take down such a adversary with just a few rocks and a sling. God knew!  It was part of his plan the whole time this illustrates to us that nothing is too big or too scary to have Victory over. If a small boy can kill a giant with one shot we can tell the giant to move and it will be moved.

God allows giants to cross your path so that the David in you will rise up!

It all boils down to Faith it doesn’t have to be a large amount of Faith,  it isn’t a contest, you can have the smallest amount of Faith even as small as mustard seed and you can tell a Mountain to move and it will.

Matthew 17:20 – And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

God gives us the ultimate weapon His Word the very thing that spoke existence into place, The Word of God. More powerful than any two edge sword, so powerful in the last days Mountains will crumble at the sound of it.  Our other weapon is Prayer

Philippians 4:6 – Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

John 15:7 – If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 – Pray without ceasing

Rage I will on the battlefield, streaming fire across the fields.  I am a Celtic Warrior Princess I pick up my sword and hold it high.

Really the only thing that keeps these “giants” in our path is us, we fail to recognize that we already have Victory in everything we do.  It is easier for us to accept defeat then to fight and this makes us weak and lazy. But God uses these trials and storms to build us to make us stronger and for us to share our testimony with others and if we don’t fight we have no testimony.  Then the Devil wins and we go through these trials for no reason but defeat.

Lord Heavenly Father, I come to you Today Lord to ask that the person reading this who is struggling with Giants in her path Lord that she learns to lean on you Lord, to come to you and pray for Faith and Strength that only you can provide. Lord I pray she sees the David inside of her and finds that voice that tells that mountain to crumble and becomes stronger for your Glory in the Mighty Name of Jesus Amen
